Growing up in a rural Maine countryside, I turned enthusiastically to reading and drawing at an early age. I felt the sheer joy of creating when putting marks on a blank piece of paper, whether in the form of words or visual images. While pursuing my higher education, first at the University of Maine and then later at Boston University, my focus was on English Literature. After marriage and three sons, that focus shifted to visual creation. I then earned a degree Magna Cum Laude in Studio Painting from the University of Houston.

Although my art school training was predominantly in oil, shortly after graduation I discovered the seductive power of watercolor. I am continually challenged by this medium. At the same time, fresh, often mysterious images can be created only through the use of its magic.

While living in Texas, I was represented by several galleries in Houston, Texas, and Scottsdale, Arizona. During this period I gained admittance into many national and international shows. My art sales to Houston banks, corporations, and individual collectors were brisk. I was also fortunate to receive multiple commissions for several Arizona and Houston resort hotels. And, to my delight, I was inducted into the National Watercolor Society as a signature member (hence the N.W.S. after my name).

Having moved back to my home state of Maine in 1993, I have shifted my choice of images; the artistic journey, though, has remained the same. I show my art by appointment at my studio at 30 Strawberry Hill, Bar Harbor. Also limited edition prints are sold at the Jordan Pond House (Acadia National Park) and the Acadia Shop, 58 Main Street; Bar Harbor, ME. Currently I am represented by Northeast Fine Art & Design, 125 Main Street, Northeast Harbor, ME.

The main truths I have found to be solid are:
•Work every day possible, because when you do things happen, Always work from your own experience, and
• Love what you do and the journey will always be exciting and full of surprises.
